Deadline for Entering Your LBS Idea in the European Satellite Navigation Competition is June 30!

Submit your idea for an LBS solution into the 2011 European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC) and you can win prizes just for being a creative genius. But hurry, the competition closes June 30, 2011.

Companies, startups, research institutions, universities or just individuals can participate in this international ideas competition. Every year, the competition searches and awards the best ideas on satellite navigation-related technology and solutions. More than 20 regional winners compete to become the overall winner – the Galileo Master. The Galileo Master gets €20,000 prize money and the opportunity to realize his/her project during a six-month incubation program. Register at http://www.galileo-masters.eu/.

Winners and sponsors of the 2010 ESNC in Munich, Germany

Outside of these 20+ regional winners, several companies are also awarding "Special Topic Prizes" based on specific themes. NAVTEQ is sponsoring two themed prize categories:

  • Best Mobile Enterprise Solution:  NAVTEQ will award the winner of this Special Topic Prize a business incubation prize package worth €75,000 to help build and launch your idea.
  • University Challenge: NAVTEQ will award a university student (or group of students) a business incubation prize package worth €75,000 for submitting the best idea for a location-based application.

Regional winners will be announced in the early fall, and the overall Galileo Master will be crowned October 19, 2011 in Munich, Germany.  For full details or to register, go to http://www.galileo-masters.edu/.
