NAVTEQ Network for Developers™ Partner Manager, EMEA, Pia Vuohelainen opened Israel Mobile Summit (IMS) in Tel Aviv with the keynote address, “LBS 3.0: From Location to Contextual Awareness,” to more than 350 mobile industry attendees.  The event also introduced its’ developer app competition, “Innovation Showcase”.  Pia and several other judges selected Piticup as the grand prize winner with their augmented reality driving and real-time collision detection app.

For those curious about “The Next Big Thing in Mobile," John Wernecke, NAVTEQ global marketing manager, and several other panelists enlightened the audience with this lively discussion.

To add to the day’s excitement, a NAVTEQ Developer Day was held in conjunction with IMS and treated developers to sessions from NAVTEQ product specialists and partners Atlas CT and Lustancia.  Featured presenters talked about augmented reality, mobile APIs and visual content, among other things.  The day concluded for IMS and NAVTEQ with a special session by Julien Fourgeaud, Rovio (Angry Birds).

NN4D is planning its next Developer Day for June 23 in Silicon Valley, California.
