NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge® Global Champion Wikitude Launches AR Nav with U.S. Maps on Android

Austrian augmented reality provider Wikitude recently announced the launch of its turn-by-turn navigation solution Wikitude Drive in the U.S. on the Android market for $9.99.  Wikitude Drive utilizes NAVTEQ® map data and was crowned the Global Champion of the 2010 Global LBS Challenge.

Wikitude Drive is a turn-by-turn navigation system that utilizes an augmented reality camera mode and text-to-speech instructions.  Driving instructions are drawn directly onto the camera screen of the mobile device, allowing the driver to follow a line projected onto the phone’s camera view, rather than using a traditional map view.

For more information, visit Wikitude’s website.
