NN4D Connecting with Chicago Developers
Chicago developers are sharpening their technical skills with the NN4D team by attending several NN4D-hosted developer events taking place at NAVTEQ headquarters and NN4D sponsored events around Chicago.
On August 17, NN4D hosted the JavaScript hack night monthly meeting. The JavaScript framework Backbone.js is getting a lot of attention, so developers of all skill levels were invited in and paired up to do a small web app using Backbone.
On August 31, NN4D will host the Hadoop Hackathon at our NAVTEQ offices. A wide variety of companies and organizations use Hadoop for both research and production. The Apache™ Hadoop™ project develops open-source software for reliable, scalable, distributed computing.
On September 17, NN4D is sponsoring the Windy City Rails conference taking place at the Westin River North Hotel, Chicago. The Windy City Rails conference will consist of full-length sessions presented by some of the leaders in the Rails community, lightning talks covering a variety of hot topics in a short amount of time, as well as hands-on sessions to assist developers in practicing solid coding techniques to help them design their very own products from scratch. More information on the Windy City Rails conference can be found at http://www.windycityrails.com/.
More information on NN4D activities can be found on the NN4D event calendar.
