1 You’ve heard us talking about the NAVTEQ App Warehouse in a variety of channels and media. Since its launch earlier this year, we’ve had great interest from the developer community. Developers saw the benefit of the App Warehouse as a win/win – for the investment of time spent in uploading information about their application to the App Warehouse, there were tremendous gains to be made. Every application in the App Warehouse has been selected for at least one opportunity.

Each month the NN4D News highlights an app currently available in the NAVTEQ App Warehouse. The featured app this month is eMakler by KOMAKO Sp. z o.o.
The NAVTEQ App Warehouse is a free matchmaking portal that offers free business development and marketing services on a larger scale. The portal is designed to introduce developers of location-based apps to commercial buyers, such as handset manufacturers and network operators, and will formalize our co-marketing efforts.

I know I have said it before, but the VDL is an excellent resource that all NN4D members should take advantage of! This month’s post walks you through all the new VDL resources we have created to help get you started with this awesome service. Not only will these resources help get you started, but they are also good if you are curious at all about this service. What do I mean by that? By checking out these posted resources, you will be able to get a good feel for what this service can do for you, and how to make the most of your five free hours of VDL access. This is an excellent way to preview the VDL and satisfy your curiosity without having to cut into those five free hours of access you get as a member of NN4D.

NN4D Connecting with Chicago Developers
1 Chicago developers are sharpening their technical skills with the NN4D team by attending several NN4D-hosted developer events taking place at NAVTEQ headquarters and NN4D sponsored events around Chicago.
On August 17, NN4D hosted the JavaScript hack night monthly meeting. The JavaScript framework Backbone.js is getting a lot of attention, so developers of all skill levels were invited in and paired up to do a small web app using Backbone.
