3D Rendering & Indoor Navigation Video Tutorial
In June, NN4D released an update of VisioDevKit™, a real-time 2D and 3D rendering engine and SDK created by Visioglobe®, on NN4D.com. This month, we released a new video tutorial, providing a technical walk-through of VisioDevKit 1.1, which enables developers to create mobile navigation apps not only for outdoor use with nice 3D rendering effects using NAVTEQ’s visual content portfolio, but also for indoor navigation in many of the largest shopping malls, using NAVTEQ Destination Maps™.
The video tutorial is in the form of a webinar by Hector Briceño, VP engineering at Visioglobe, with an introduction by NN4D’s in-house Technical Writer Michael Wirths. This tutorial will give you an understanding of the SDK’s technology, usage and purpose. The features of VisioDevKit 1.1 are presented with the help of in-depth code examples, both for iOS and Android.
The tutorial covers the following:
- Introduction of Visioglobe
- Example: HelloWorld under iOS
- Example: 3dModule (Munich) under iOSa
- Example: mapModule (DestinationMap) under iOS
- Example: routingModule (DestinationMap) under iOS
- Example: routingModule under Android with Eclipse™
- Example: 3dModule under Android command line
Hector Briceño is an engineer with technical knowledge in 3D graphics, operating systems, networking, and mobile devices and with experience from startups. His academic, teaching, tri-lingual (English, Spanish and French) and multi-cultural experience allows him to communicate well, to understand customer needs and to work with diverse teams to create great products. Before joining Visioglobe in the beginning of 2008, Hector was a professor at the University of Lyon.
