The NAVTEQ Virtual Developer Lab™ (VDL) is powered by DeviceAnywhere™ and is a remote testing service enabling you to test your LBS apps on real handsets (with GPS signal) in live networks. You get access to the market’s most popular GPS devices – all in one place.
During June-July 2011, we have cleared out some old GPS devices that were not being used for testing anymore and added 17 new devices − based in the DeviceAnywhere Test Center™ in the UK and San Mateo (CA) − to the NAVTEQ VDL. The new devices are listed in the table below and cover:
- Two new tablets from BlackBerry® and HTC®
- 11 of the latest Android™ phones from HTC, LG®, Motorola®, Pantech®, Samsung® and Sony Ericsson®, including the very cool Sony Ericsson Xperia™ PLAY (perfect for creating new, advanced 3D games based on NAVTEQ® 3D visual content)
- Two new Windows® Phone 7 devices
- New HP® smartphone based on HP webOS®
- Java ME®/BREW® feature phone from Motorola
Free Testing Hours for NN4D Members
Did you know that all members of NN4D get five free testing hours, good for 21 days after your profile/account has been set up in the NAVTEQ VDL? NAVTEQ® App Warehouse partners even get up to 10 hours. After the initial free test hours, NN4D members benefit from heavily discounted testing fees.
